From Amazon Prime Video to NOW TV Entertainment Pass, and Sky Sports Mobile TV to Spotify Premium, there’s a boatload of fresh content arriving this April. We take a look at what you should watch out for…
What is it? When is it out? Where can I stream it? The three questions on everyone’s lips when it comes to the hottest entertainment options on offer. But today, when there’s so much content available, getting the answers you’re looking for can be quite the challenge.
So, wouldn’t it be handy if all those answers were in place? Leaving you with more time to enjoy the entertainment you deserve after (or during) a long, hard week. Well, that’s exactly why we’re here yet again with our essential entertainment mix for April. And, believe us, this month is not one to be missed.
Between the world’s biggest show returning for its final ever season, new TV releases that could soon find similar international stardom, and the biggest fixtures in the business end of the Premier League season, there’s a lot going on. Which is why we’re going to waste no time getting straight into it.
But, before we do, there’s one key part of the puzzle we’ve missed out – how you can enjoy it all! If you select one of our Red Entertainment plans*, a subscription to Amazon Prime Video, NOW TV Entertainment Pass, Sky Sports Mobile TV, or Spotify Premium is included at no extra cost for up to two years!
Now, where were we…
Amazon Prime Video
Be it TV, film or even Amazon Studios original content, the Prime Video library is stacked with on demand excellence.
As with every month, April sees exciting new additions to Amazon Prime Video. However, there is one new entry that’s got us more excited than the rest: the debut season of HANNA.
Inspired by the 2011 film of the same name, this series follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl raised in the forests of Northern Poland, as she evades capture by an off-book CIA agent while trying to unearth the truth behind her real identity.
You can catch all eight episodes of HANNA series one right now. But, before you do, why not get a taster of the action in the trailer below?
NOW TV Entertainment Pass
If you want to enjoy award-winning TV boxsets plus amazing live content from some of the UK’s most popular channels, the NOW TV Entertainment Pass is the one for you. And – better still – with the NOW TV app you can download all of your favourite content to make buffering a thing of the past.
Eight years and 67 episodes later, we’re finally here. The closing chapter of the most epic story ever brought to the small screen is upon us. Yes, you guessed it, Game of Thrones season eight is landing on Sky Atlantic this month.
On 15 April, using your NOW TV Entertainment Pass, you can stream episode one live in time with the US. And if you’re not free then – at 2am – fear not! All episodes will be available to stream whenever you wish after they’ve premiered. And that also goes for all episodes from the previous seven series if you need a reminder of how things went down, or if you’ve still not submitted to the hype.
So, who will end up on the Iron Throne? Jon Snow? Daenerys? Cersei? Or will there even be an Iron Throne to claim? Tune in to find out.
Sky Sports Mobile TV
The race for this year’s Premier League title could well go down to the wire. Which is exactly why you shouldn’t miss a second of it. Use Sky Sports Mobile TV to stream the top action on your phone, wherever you are.
Will Liverpool claim a first ever Premier League title? Or will last year’s champions Manchester City keep the silverware for another season? In all honesty, who knows! But what we are sure of is that it’s going to be a close one – of which the same goes for the top four spots still up for grabs. And at the other end of the table? Well, there’s now just the one relegation place left for the league’s strugglers to avoid.
All in all, we can safely say that there’s still much to play for, and in a few short weeks’ time things will surely be a lot clearer. But, for now, here are the top fixtures you should be keeping an eye out for throughout the rest of April:
On 14 April we have a huge Super Sunday double-header, as Manchester City travel to Crystal Palace before fellow title challengers Liverpool host top four contenders Chelsea. The following weekend, Manchester City host Tottenham on Saturday 20 April, in a tricky game for the title hopefuls. Then, on Sunday 21 April, Liverpool travel to Wales to play Cardiff – a fixture with huge implications at both the top and bottom of the Premier League table.
On Wednesday 24 April, we have a game that will forever be one of the league’s most anticipated: the Manchester Derby. Surely this time round – like every other – the game will dictate how things look for both teams on the league’s final day. And you can stream every second of it, plus every other top fixture, on Sky Sports Mobile TV.
Be it for a playlist, a podcast, or the need to just plug into your favourite tunes, Spotify Premium is here to fulfil all your audio needs. Better still – there’s no ads!
Spotify boasts its ability to provide you with music to match every moment and feeling – and it’s no lie. This month’s featured playlist is ‘Soft Rock’ – a 100-track epic with everything from Bon Jovi to The Beatles. What’s not to love?
As far as April’s new releases go, English electronic music duo, The Chemical Brothers, will soon be bringing ‘No Geography’ – their ninth studio album – to our ears. And fast rising sensation Jade Bird will also be releasing her hotly anticipated debut album, the self-titled ‘Jade Bird’.
But the best part of it all is that Spotify Premium enables you to enjoy all that great new content – and everything from the archives – without one single ad. And, even better, you can take all of your favourite hits offline in an instant – so you can rock out even when you don’t have access to mobile data.
