The fastest iPhone yet
Apple’s iPhone XS has all the hallmarks of one of its ‘S’ branded releases, which is to say that the company has taken an already iconic design, tweaked it to perfection, and upped the internal specs to brand new, industry-leading levels.
In terms of design and build, that means we’re looking at the same stunning edge-to-edge 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display, FaceID sensor and class-leading dual-camera design found in the iPhone X, wrapped in the toughest glass ever in a smartphone.
But what’s new is iPhone XS’s beating heart: Apple’s new A12 Bionic processor, which replaces last year’s already powerful A11 Bionic chipset. The A12 Bionic is, as you’d expect, an even more blazingly fast processor, offering speeds that rival the internals of some desktop computers.
Thanks in part to its multi-core innards and new Neural Engine with machine learning, it’s also a lot more power efficient, which – when coupled with iOS 12’s various improvements – should amount to awesome speed and battery life.
The result? With that mighty new chipset, this year’s flagship iPhone will handle anything you throw at it with supreme ease. It’ll also be able to store your whole digital world, too; iPhone XS comes storage options up to an enormous 512 GB.
Also new are better stereo speakers, even faster FaceID unlocking and an improved dual 12-megapixel camera setup that offers a larger sensor – with bigger pixels – and an enhanced flash.
That combined system will make for some incredible photos backed up by noise reduction, auto exposure, Smart HDR, and more. In Portrait mode, meanwhile, you can shift the depth of field after you’ve taken your photos, letting you blur the background more or less. It’s what’s known as Computational Photography, and it’s pretty amazing.
All those new headline features rub shoulders on the spec sheet with a few excellent ones from the iPhone X – like IP68 water and dust-resistance, wireless charging, and the brilliant TrueDepth selfie camera system. Oh, and Animojis, naturally.
You can now pre-order your 64GB iPhone XS with a Vodafone Red Extra 16GB bundle for just £66pm (with £29 upfront cost). That’ll net you unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and a total of 26GB in monthly data!
Sounding good? Apple’s iPhone XS will be perfect for some, but what if you want something a little bigger?
iPhone XS Max | Pre-order here!
The biggest iPhone display ever
Is ‘go big or go home’ your personal mantra? Then we’d wager the new iPhone XS Max is the device for you. Here, Apple’s taken the blueprint for the XS and stretched it out to a whopping 6.5-inches, with 3.3 million pixels going edge to edge.
That’s comfortably the biggest display we’ve ever seen on an iPhone, but thanks to the unique ‘X’-style design, the phone’s overall footprint remains about the same size as an iPhone 8 Plus. That means you get a true phablet experience without stretching your pockets.
What’s more, because this larger iPhone represents the very biggest and best Apple has to offer in a smartphone, you can also expect a monster battery life in the XS Max – up to an hour and a half longer than the iPhone X.
Lastly, like the XS, iPhone XS Max also boasts up to 512GB of storage, meaning it can look after everything from your photos and videos, to games, apps and downloads for a long time to come.
You can pre-order your 64GB iPhone XS Max on a Vodafone Red Extra 16GB bundle £70pm (with a £79 upfront cost). That’ll earn you unlimited mins, unlimited texts, and 26GB of monthly data.

A big, beautiful iPhone with a lower price tag
Looking to join the edge-to-edge display revolution without necessarily opting for the very top-end? Apple’s got you covered with the new iPhone XR, which offers a brilliant compromise between features, style, and price.
With a 6.1-inch LCD ‘Liquid Retina’ display, the new iPhone XR is actually a hair bigger than Apple’s iPhone XS. But the difference between OLED and LCD display costs – and a few subtle feature changes here and there – have allowed the company to create a gorgeous new iPhone with a slightly lower price tag than you might expect.
Aside from that new display, the main spec difference here is the inclusion of a single-lens 12-Megapixel wide-angle rear camera setup.
But don’t worry: these different components will still make for incredible speed, excellent performance and crystal clear photos. And iPhone XR owners will still enjoy flagship features like FaceID, IP68 water and dust resistance, and the new, super powerful A12 Bionic chipset.
In short, iPhone XR is the perfect choice for anyone looking to jump on board with the full, modern iPhone experience, but who doesn’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles found on iPhone XS and XS Max. You’ll be able to pre-order the new iPhone XR from 19 October. You can register your interest here.
Apple Watch Series 4 | Pre-order here!
The Smartwatch just got smarter
The fourth generation Apple Watch takes everything that the company has got right in the smartwatch space and dials the experience up to 11. Here you get larger displays and smaller bezels – now available in either 40 or 44mm options – letting you see more at a glance. And, as with every iteration of Apple Watch, there are still oodles of straps to choose between, and colour options to suit your style.
The watch is powered by a new Apple S4 dual-core chipset that offers twice the performance of previous models, while a new accelerometer and gyroscope can process data eight times faster. Amongst other things, they allow the watch to do amazing tricks like identify falls, allowing people to issue an emergency call with one button. Or, if you’re immobile for more than one minute, Apple Watch Series 4 will make that call for you, and alert your nearest and dearest, too.
There are also smarter heart rate features powered by that processor setup, like scanning your BPM in the background to point out anything unusual (like atrial fibrillation). You can also use Apple Watch to take an Electrocardiogram (ECG) reading – a world first in a consumer wearable product.
Elsewhere, the digital crown on the side – used to scroll around the watch’s interface – now supports haptic feedback, giving you better control when scrolling through lists and scrubbing through Podcasts.
In terms of software, the latest version of WatchOS sports watch faces with more info than ever before, including your heart rate, step counters and even UV levels. And you can design your own by adding different features and trackers to existing faces.
Lastly, thanks to an always-connected inbuilt eSIM, you’ll be able to stay connected, make calls and stream music wherever you go on our best ever network – even if you leave your phone behind!
You can pre-order your Apple Watch Series 4 now from just £22 per month for the fist six months, and only £27 per month after that!
So there you have it: the fastest iPhone ever, the biggest iPhone ever, a phone made especially for the more price conscious smartphone owner, and a brand new Apple Watch! All in all? It’s a great time to be an Apple fan.
