Spotify recently predicted their ‘songs of the summer’, with Selena Gomez’s Bad Liar and Imagine Dragon’s Thunder already heating up playlists and climbing the charts. It’s a big month for powerful female voices, with Katy Perry set to release her fourth studio album Witness on June 9 and Lorde releasing her second album Melodrama on June 16. In both cases fans have been incredibly patient, waiting four years since Prism and Pure Heroine alike.

Reports from NME decribe Witness as reflecting on the changes in Katy’s life and the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire. Listen to Katy’s latest single (revealed as an antibullying anthem not a Taylor Swift diss) Swish Swish below.

Also new this month is third studio album Relaxer from Alt-J. Consisting of just eight songs spanning 39 minutes, Relaxer is the band’s shortest album yet. And according to early reviews it’s the trio’s first true folk album – a clear departure from the indie pop and electronica of old. Listen to new Alt-J single Adeline below and stream the full album on Spotify now.

Our pick of the month is fast-paced drama Riviera, starring Julia Stiles as art curator and socialite, Georgie Clios. As if the death of her billionaire husband, Constantine, in an explosion aboard his luxury yacht isn’t enough, Georgia soon discovers not all’s as it seems. As the mystery behind the explosion unravels, so does Georgia’s ‘perfect life’, and a wicked web of lies, crime and dark secrets comes to the fore. Who was this man she once knew and had married? Tune in from June 15 to find out.

 Sky Sports Mobile TV

The Lions kicked off their 2017 tour in New Zealand against a provincial Barbarians team on Saturday June 3. But despite the 13-7 win, they’re sure copping some flack for performance. The Lion’s next challenge comes this Wednesday June 7 June against the Auckland Blues at Eden Park. With eight All Blacks named in coach Tana Umanga’s squad, Gatland’s new-look Lions line-up has plenty to prove. Catch all the action live on Sky Sports 1 from 8am. A great accompaniment to your morning coffee.

The Barbarian and Blues matches are two of a 10-game tour, which will see Gatland’s men play five more warm-ups before the first test against the All Blacks on June 24. All games will play out live on Sky Sports 1, so make sure you tune in and cheer on the boys.

Top of the ODI rankings and second in the Test table, South Africa is also providing England with a stern challenge this summer – this time in the form of Twenty20 cricket. T20s are set for Wednesday 21 June, Friday 23 June and Sunday 25 June. The first starts at 6pm and all will screen live on Sky Sports 2.

 Netflix

Will Daya pull the trigger? It’s the question on everyone’s lips as we return to Litchfield Penitentiary for season 5 of Orange is the New Black.

Recently renewed for another three seasons, Netflix’s award-winning OITNB has reached a turning point and the prison is in chaos. United, all factions have risen up against the militant guards and they’re intent on taking back their rights. Season 5 is expected to play out over just three high drama days stretching across 13 episodes. All our favourites are returning, with rumours Ruby Rose (Stellar Carlin) could return as well.

Staying fresh and funny while shining a light on overcrowding and serious societal issues, it’s no wonder OITNB is Netflix’s most-watched series. Grab your tissues and clear your schedule – it’s time for some binge viewing, and don’t forget to check out the season 1-4 recap here.
