Spring has almost sprung! And so has a whole new month of fresh entertainment, which is why we’re back with our pick of the bunch for March. Sit back and tune in…
March is here already, and it’s jam-packed with terrific telly, movies, music and sport – a lineup you can take full advantage of with our awesome mobile entertainment packs*. The only tough decision? Which one to choose…
NOW TV Mobile Entertainment Pass
There’s never been a better time to be a Marvel comics fan, as yet another spin-off makes its way to NOW TV Mobile Entertainment this month. New series, Legion, brings the X-Men universe to the small screen as you’ve never seen it before, with season one shaping up to be a must for your March watch list.
British actor Dan Stevens stars as David Haller/Legion, a troubled young man who was diagnosed with schizophrenia as a child. Now in his early 30s, Haller finds himself institutionalised once again, but when his day-to-day is disrupted by new patient Syd Barrett (Rachel Keller), he must face the possibility that his troubling visions may be real. Check out the trailer below.
If you followed our earlier piece on the Brit Awards, you’ll be familiar with Rag’n’Bone Man. Gravel-voiced Rory Graham has been making waves with his unique blend of soulful, hip-hop-infused blues since releasing EP Wolves in 2014, and his debut album Human has been racing up the charts. Find out what all the fuss is about below:
Also out this month is Ed Sheeran’s new album Divide. Released March 3, Divide is his first LP since Multiply in 2014, and if singles Shape of You and Castle on the Hill are anything to go by, it’s set to smash Spotify streaming records all over again. Listen to latest single How Would You Feel (Paean) below.
Others to listen for this month include Last Place by recently reunited indie rockers Grandaddy on March 3, and composer/multi-instrumentalist Julia Holter’s In the Same Room on March 31.
Competition is heating up in Premier League football this month as the battle for top spot intensifies. Perhaps most highly charged is Manchester City vs. Liverpool on March 19’s Super Sunday. Kicking off at 4.30pm, the massive match-up will take place at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, and will be made all the more interesting in the lead-up by Man City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne’s recent admission that City’s accomplishments can’t hold a candle to Liverpool’s. Catch all the action on Sky Sports 1.
In other sports, our cricketers take on West Indies in the 2017 ODI series, starting 1.30pm March 3 on Sky Sports 2, while Premier League darts continues at 7pm every Thursday on Sky Sport 1.
With the sheer volume of new quality content making its way to Netflix this month, you’ll be hard pressed to get much else done. We recommend starting with season two of popular anti-romcom, Love, where unlikely couple Mickey (Gillian Jacobs) and Gus (Paul Rust) face a whirlwind of new doubts, pitfalls and temptations as they take their relationship to the next level. All 12 episodes are set for release March 10. Catch the latest trailer below.
If you’re looking for further laughs, tune in March 7 for the release of Amy Schumer: The Leather Special. And, also new to Netflix this month, is Marvel’s Iron Fist.
The release of Iron Fist on March 17 follows that of other gritty Netflix and Marvel superhero adaptations: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, and precedes upcoming cross-over mini-series The Defenders, due out later in the year. Stay tuned to Vodafone Social for a full lowdown on Iron Fist’s history.
