*New* Jedi Junior High | Netflix
A documentary with its heart in totally the right place follows students at the Arts & Learning Children’s Conservatory in Anaheim, California, as they plan, rehearse and perform a musical version of the Empire Strikes Back. It’s like a love letter to Star Wars and teenage-hood all wrapped up into one 90-minute package.
*New* Bad Lip Reading: The Empire Strikes Back
The geniuses over at Bad Lip Reading apply their quick wit and vocal talent to the fan favourite in the saga, with genuinely hilarious (and catchy) results in this bonkers musical masterpiece. Earlier this year the BLP team paired up with Mark Hamill to produce a more general Star Wars redub, but that’s since been pulled on copyright grounds. Ah well… This one’s better anyway.
*New* Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer
Now this is trailer-ing done right; we get mere flashes of action, a slathering of instantly iconic imagery, and precious little plot spoiling. The only question? What does Luke mean when he says, “it’s time for the Jedi to end”? December can’t come soon enough.
*New* Star Wars Battlefront II reveal trailer
EA’s Battlefront reboot from 2015 was a visual feast, and it came stomping out of the gates absolutely dripping in Star Wars nostalgia. But if there was one criticism to be levelled its way, it was that – unlike its predecessors – it lacked a single player campaign. It seems the team have been listening, though: this fully-fledged sequel is touting a brand new story mode.
