Find out how we're helping to mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death by putting the Bard's work on mobiles around the country for free...

Digital Library

Consider yourself a culture vulture? A bit of a keen reader? Then you’ll love our latest prizedraw. We’ve partnered with the British Library to offer some brilliant interactive ‘digital library’ wallpaper for your school or community centre, to help unlock the avid reader in yourself and young people everywhere…

Is this a prizedraw I see before me?

23 April 2016 marks 400 years since the death of the Bard himself, William Shakespeare. With old Bill’s work ranked as some of the finest ever written, we’ve decided to mark the occasion by getting his seminal writing into more people’s hands – and into your pockets – for free.

For the rest of April, we’ll be heading around the UK with special ‘digital library’ wallpaper. Plastered up in public spaces, each roll will sport a bespoke QR code, which you can point your phone at to download 14 original first editions of Shakespeare’s plays from the British Library collections – including favourites like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet – all as digital downloads for your mobile. The wallpaper will also take you through to the British Library’s website, where you can find out more about the world of Shakespeare’s plays as well as what we know about the life of the mysterious Bard himself.

But the best bit? We’re giving you the chance to win some of these clever rolls of wallpaper yourself. That means you could transform your school, community centre or clubhouse into a hub for free digital reading, gifting kids in your community the chance to read some of the world’s best-loved plays on their smartphones or tablets.

And luckily, entering is easy! All you need do is tweet @VodafoneUK including #Idplay and tell us:

Q. If you were a Shakespeare character, who would you be and why?

You’ve got until 11.59pm on 6 May to get your answers in to be in with a chance of winning one of 50 rolls of Shakespearian wallpaper, and you can check out the full Ts&Cs at the bottom of this post. Good Luck! In the meantime, have a listen to our Shakespeare-themed playlist below!
