Find out how you can help raise money for a great selection of worthy causes for this year's ITV Text Santa appeal - powered by JustTextGiving.
‘Tis the season to be jolly, and what could be jollier than helping ITV Text Santa make a difference to families in need this Christmas? To date, the appeal has raised over a whopping £21 million for 22 different charities and this year’s appeal is hoping to raise more than any year previously!
This year, for the fifth year running, JustTextGiving by Vodafone is once again teaming up with Text Santa, meaning that Vodafone’s robust platform is powering the text donation service to make sure all of your text donations reach the fabulous charities involved.

2015: Get your knits out!
This year’s chosen Text Santa charities are all focused on improving quality of life during what can be a particularly challenging time of year, especially for families who are already struggling. The 2015 charities are Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save the Children UK, and there are loads of ways you can get involved to support them.
You can find plenty of great fundraising ideas here, but we’re particularly excited about #XmasJumperDay on 18 December 2015 – a day when you can do your bit in a Christmas knit and text donate to support the cause. It couldn’t be easier to get involved: simply put on your Christmas jumper, text donate to ITV Text Santa and then show everyone what you’re up to on Twitter and Facebook to help raise awareness.
Friday 18 December is also the day of the live show, where a host of celebrities will be pulling their own woolies out of the cupboard. So once your working day is done you’ll be able to put your feet up and enjoy the show knowing that your donation has helped support three wonderful charities.
To support ITV Text Santa you can text SANTA5 to 70760 to donate £5, or text SANTA10 to 70760 to donate £10. Anyone on any network can text, and messages are free to send. Every penny donated will go to the Text Santa appeal, while UK tax payers can also claim Gift Aid on their donations. 29% of people who donated in 2014 added Gift Aid and hopefully even more people will this year. There are plenty of other ways to donate too, find out more about them here.
If you’ll be doing your bit in a Christmas knit, either in the lead up to 18 December or on the day itself, we’d love to see! Who knows, you might even inspire your friends and family to get involved too. Just hop onto Twitter and use the hashtag #XmasJumperDay. Throughout this week, the @JustTextGiving team will be sending out personalised GIFs to congratulate those doing their bit and wearing their best festive jumpers.
Be sure to keep an eye out for those GIFs, fundraising tips and a whole lot more on the @JustTextGiving Twitter feed right through to the end of the Text Santa live show.
How does it work? If you’d like to know more about exactly how JustTextGiving sends money from your phone to your chosen charity (or charities, in this case!), the story of how a text donation works can be found here.
