Spotify-overview

After six months of grey skies and gloom, the sun has finally broken out, coaxing us all into our shirt-and-shorts combos. Temperatures are on the incline, so there’s no doubt that Summer is just around the corner.

But fun in the sun doesn’t mean you have to miss out on everything that 4G Entertainment has to offer this month – quite the opposite! Our Red Value 4G Bundles include a choice of subscription to one of Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or NOW TV Entertainment, and once you’re hooked into our 4G network you can stream any of them straight to your mobile, whether you’re on the beach, in the park, or sheltering under your emergency umbrella.

Choosing between the three is never easy of course, so read on for our rundown of this month’s upcoming sport, TV and music!

This month marks the beginning of what promises to be a phenomenal summer of sport. We’re into the business end of the football season now, and there are key clashes at the top of the Premier League table as Spurs take on Man City on 3 May, and Chelsea take on Liverpool a week later.

Both are live and exclusive on Sky Sports, along with the small matter of Manchester United vs Arsenal at Old Trafford on 17 May, where tempers are sure to fray.

Meanwhile, those lucky teams who have made the Football League Playoffs will be battling it out throughout May for a shot at promotion, and later in the month there’s European football too, with both Champion’s League semi-finals live and exclusive on Sky Sports.

If football’s not your bag, there’s plenty more going on besides. England’s cricketers look to wrap up victory in their three test series against the West Indies, before heading home to take on New Zealand. And then there’s England vs Barbarians in Rugby Union too; as well as Rugby League, Tennis, Golf and Darts, all live and exclusive on Sky Sports.

With a library of over 30 million songs, Spotify caters for all kinds of music fans, meaning May has plenty in store no matter what genre you love.

The highlight of the month for many will be Mumford & Son’s new album, ‘Wilder Mind’, out on 4 May. If you’re already a fan we’re sure you’ll be streaming on launch day, but don’t expect more of the same – the band has promised that the new album will have a very different sound:

“When we took a break, we knew it wasn’t going to involve acoustic instruments,” said Marcus Mumford – the band’s frontman – in his statement about the new album. “We didn’t say: ‘no acoustic instruments’ but I think all of us had the desire to shake it up.” And if you’re really impatient, you can check out the first two singles – ‘Believe’ and ‘The Wolf’ – right here.

If indie rock isn’t your thing, there’s plenty more besides. Hip-hop fans have new albums from Snoop Dogg and Tech N9ne in store this month, Hot Chip has a sledge-load of catchy new beats for you on 18 May, and old school rockers can look forward to a twelfth album from the iconic Paul Weller, with his new record ‘Saturn’s Patterns’ out 11 May.

There’s plenty of new TV to fill the hours with this month. You can tune in to Sky Living to catch The Enfield Haunting – a three-part supernatural drama based around the mysterious 1977 Enfield poltergeist, starring Timothy Spall and Juliet Stevenson. The Enfield Haunting will be available live and on Catch Up from 3 May. Or why not see Josh Hartnett, Eva Green and Timothy Dalton return to Sky Atlantic on 5 May for Season 2 of Penny Dreadful (S1 Box Set available now On Demand).

And if that isn’t enough, keep your eye out for Wayward Pines on 14 May. FOX’s latest drama is a mystery thriller based in a small town in Idaho where a secret service agent goes searching for two missing federal investigators, and realises this rural town isn’t quite what it seems…
