It’s here. After a year enjoying its place among the top flagship smartphones in the world, the HTC One (M8)’s worthy successor has arrived. Are you ready to say hello to the brand new HTC One M9?
The One M9, HTC’s newest and best smartphone, is packed to the digital rafters with refinements and improvements – both inside and out – and it’s coming to Vodafone UK soon. So what’s new? We’ve got the specs, the new features and the must-have innovations all in one place. Read on to find out everything you need to know about the HTC One M9…
HTC One M9: ‘Let them stare’
The HTC One M9 takes every headline feature we’ve come to expect from the award winning One series – the all-metal design, the sturdy build quality, the innovative camera tech and the slick joys of HTC Sense – and improves on them in every way.
Let’s begin on the outside. The distinctive all-metal body is back in the M9, but this time it’s slightly shorter, narrower and lighter, making it fit better in the hand despite keeping the same big screen size. That display is a full HD, 1080p number, which’ll make your videos, games, photos and everything in between really pop.
HTC’s brought the M8’s UltraPixel camera technology round to the front this time, gifting the front-facing camera a huge level of detail and clarity, and letting you take selfies or record HD video that look great even in low light. The rear camera’s no slouch either, sporting a brand new 20-Megapixel sensor that’ll give you the best shots in every condition.
But what about audio? The HTC One M9 guarantees a larger-than-life soundtrack courtesy of HTC BoomSound. The HTC One family’s iconic dual front-facing speakers, now combined with 5.1 channel Dolby Surround sound4 simulation, get you even closer to the action, delivering extraordinary, multidimensional cinematic listening. Like your tunes through your headphones? Well, even the most discerning music fans will be blown away by the phone’s support for perfect, 24-bit high-definition sound that surpasses even CD quality.
So that’s the outside, but it’s what’s underneath that counts, right? Luckily the One M9 is well equipped to take on any task you throw at it. It’s a hugely powerful phone, thanks to the engine room’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor. That’s 4 cores running at 2.0GHz and 4 running at 1.5GHz, and with all that raw power your games and videos will play smoother than ever.
Because the HTC One M9 runs on Google Android 5.0 you’ll be able to grab all the latest titles from the Google Play Store, while storing all your media and apps should be a breeze: there’s 32GB of inbuilt storage and a MicroSD card slot that’ll duly swallow up to 128GB more.
HTC’s Sense 7 sits on top of the M9’s version of Android, adding carefully considered improvements and services like BlinkFeed – which serves up relevant news and updates from your social networks – as well as a host of personalisation and camera features.
All in all, it’s a stunning package that represents the very best of 2015’s smartphone technology in one sturdy, well-crafted chassis. It’ll be coming to Vodafone UK really soon, so stay tuned to Vodafone Social for more info on pricing and availability.
