Having difficulty choosing your Vodafone 4G content partner? Take a look at what's coming up this month on Spotify, Sky Sports and Netflix to help you make your decision...
Every month we take a look at what’s coming up on Sky Sports Mobile TV, Spotify Premium and Netflix – our content partners for 4G. Sign up to one of our Red 4G plans worth £26 or more, and you’ll be gifted the choice of sports, music, or TV and films on demand and on your phone. Our monthly round ups are designed to help you make that choice, and this month the choice is easier than ever.
Why? Because between now and 3 November, anyone buying a Red XL or Red XXL 4G plan from Vodafone UK will get two content partners included, instead of just one – Netflix and Sky Sports Mobile TV, or Netflix and Spotify Premium. You can read all about that deal right here, but in the meantime, here’s what’s coming up on each service in October…
Sky Sports Mobile TV
The Barclays Premier League is hotting up, and as usual our customers get access to live and exclusive matches to watch on their phones via Sky Sports Mobile TV. There are heaps of big fixtures for you to watch this month, including Aston Villa v Manchester City on 4 October, Chelsea v Arsenal on 5 October and Manchester United v Chelsea on 26 October.
You can also catch all the action from the UEFA Champions League, with Arsenal taking on Galatasaray and Basel facing Liverpool on 1 October. And doesn’t miss Arsenal’s return to the Champions League group stages to play Anderlecht on 22 October.
Sky Sports is also the only place you can watch the group stages of the Rugby Union European Champions Cup, as well as the Rugby Super league Grand Final on 11 October. Whilst golfing fans can enjoy three exclusive tournaments in October – St Andrews hosts the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the Volvo World Match Play Championship arrives in the UK for the first time in the UK for 7 years, and the BMW Masters in Shanghai.
Spotify boasts more than 20 million tracks to browse and stream at your leisure – whether it’s on your phone, tablet, computer, Smart TV or connected set top box. There’s a lifetime supply of music to explore and listen to, but what’s hot this month? Well, there are a handful of big and varied album launches coming throughout October, including Lesser Oceans by Fences, Our love by Caribou, Sweet Talker by Jessie J, Playland by Johnny Marr, and I Forget Where We Were by Ben Howard.
For all the latest Spotify songs and albums, head to the New Releases section in the Browse section of the app.
In music news, September saw Scottish DJ Calvin Harris become the first British artist to hit a billion streams on Spotify. His 2014 smash single Summer is his most popular with over 160 million streams alone making it the most streamed track of this summer. His new track with John Newman was also the first to smash 10 million streams in its first week, so why not dive in and see what all the fuss is about?
If the data and science behind streaming is your thing, check out Spotify’s brand new Spotify Insights blog: “Our mission,” says the site, “[is] to tell data stories about music in an entertaining, informative way, while maintaining a scientific approach.”
Netflix is the home of great TV shows and films, all on demand and ready to stream on a huge host of devices. From now until 3 November, anyone signing up to a Red XL or Red XXL 4G plan will get Netflix included on top of their choice of Sky Sports Mobile TV or Spotify Premium. While that certainly makes your 4G content partner choice easier, it does leave you with an even tougher one… what to watch?
For a slice of surreal adult humour, check out Bojack Horseman, the brand new Netflix original cartoon, starring the vocal talents of Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul and Arrested Development’s Will Arnett. The whole first season is available to watch right now.
Bojack Horseman joins House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Hemlock Grove and others in the growing list of Netflix originals – award-winning shows you can’t watch anywhere else. But Netflix originals are only one side of the story – to check out what else is on offer, head to netflix.com.
