Ultrafast Vodafone 4G is continuing its rollout across the UK. Here's the latest news, as well as word on everywhere that 4G has already reached. Is it near you?
We’re on a mission to provide coverage using 2G, 3G or 4G services to 98% of the UK population. To do that we’re working away almost continually, switching the service on in towns and cities across the UK, and starting to roll it out in a host more of others.
Later this month (22 May) for example, we’ll be switching on our 4G network in Swindon. Recently, we’ve started to roll out the 4G network in places like York, Slough and Epping, not to mention continuing to offer more coverage in the areas around Glasgow and Edinburgh. But those are just a few places on a fast growing list of Vodafone 4G locations. Read on for all more details…
We’ve been working away in the background to bring our ultrafast 4G network to more and more people, and there are plenty of new places joining the party. To see the full details of exactly how widely the service is available and where, check out our Coverage Checker.
In total, we’re now live or starting to roll out 4G in 233 large towns and cities across the UK. There are plenty of smaller communities too, like West Berkshire village Great Shefford, with additions being made to our coverage (and our Coverage Checker) regularly. Keeping tabs on that progress can be hard, which is why we’ve pulled out some of the recent 4G network updates in our list below:
– East & West Sussex, now including Brighton, Hove and Hastings
– Greater Manchester, now including Oldham, Swinton and Stockport
– Hertfordshire, now including Watford, Hatfield and Hemel Hempstead
– Inner London, now including Tower Hamlets, Camden and Hackney
– Kent, now including Maidstone, Folkstone and Tunbridge Wells
– Surrey, now including Staines, Epsom and Ewell
– Tyne & Wear, now including Jarrow, Gateshead and Sunderland
– West Midlands, now including West Bromwich, Stourbridge and Dudley
– West Yorkshire, now including Huddersfield, Pontefract and Wakefield
If you live or work in these areas, have a Red 4G price plan and a compatible 4G device, you could soon be experiencing our ultrafast 4G network for yourself. To find out how far our roll out has progressed, make sure you take a look at our Coverage Checker below:
