Vodafone UK is opening its doors once more, this time to a whopping 400 graduates over the next five years. How would you like to join the team?

With a degree under your belt and the so-called ‘real world’ stretched out ahead, finding the right job as a graduate is tougher than it’s ever been before. But we’ve got some news that might make your career prospects feel a little brighter: The popular Vodafone graduate programme is opening up its doors once again, and in a much bigger way than ever before. How would you like to come and work for us?

The Rt Hon Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills made a trip to Vodafone HQ today to kick-start the next iteration of our pioneering graduate scheme, which will see us welcome in 400 keen new members of the team over the next five years. And you could be one of them.

“Our graduates bring fresh thinking and energy into our business.”

“Graduate schemes like Vodafone’s help young people get started in their careers,” says Vince. “They show the value of investing in young people who want to train and gain experience in a successful British business.” And that’s exactly why we’re extending the programme, both in terms of size and duration.

How so? Well, the next crop of grads will join Vodafone for two years instead of one.  That’s divided into two months learning how we operate at a Vodafone retail store, then two five-month placements in any area of the business, and finally a full year in the department that you’re most interested in.

“Our graduates bring fresh thinking and energy into our business,” explains Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence, adding that “we can learn as much from them as they do from us.”

My time at Vodafone

As Guy says, we think that the graduate scheme is a really mutually beneficial thing, but there’s no need to just take our word for it – here’s what a couple of our recent starters had to say:

“My experience as a Vodafone graduate has been varied and fast-paced. I’m surrounded by opportunity – whether that’s launching something to market, leading new teams or organising a big charity quiz.

“I love the campus buzz and the massive network of exciting people at its foundation. Most of all, I appreciate the responsibility graduates here are given, and I definitely feel we’ve made our impact this year.”

“I was worried about how I would adjust to life in the real world of work. Little did I know how lucky I was to be joining Vodafone – a company that takes an active interest in my development, gives me great coaching from senior business leaders and provides me with a strong network of over 50 other graduates to travel with me on this 12-month journey.

“There are a number of things I like about working at Vodafone, the foremost is the flexible working. I can work from home, in one of our Vodafone libraries, a coffee shop or the office. I always feel relaxed in my setting, which helps me to focus and perform at my best. The company really does help me to help myself.”

Sound like your kind of thing? More than 88 percent of our graduates are still with us, and we’ve recruited 50 a year for each of the last three.
