The blackBerry Q10 is the best-of-both phone for anyone who loves the slick look of the BB10 platform, but still craves a physical keyboard. See how those two worlds combine in our new hands-on video.
BB10 is the new and entirely re-thought operating system from BlackBerry. It runs like a dream on the monolithic BlackBerry Z10, but what if you hanker for something a bit more like the Blackberry phones that made the company famous? If you just can’t live without a physical QWERTY keyboard, then the brand new BlackBerry Q10 is for you. But how do you meld touchscreen wizardry and actual buttons? We’ve just gone hands-on to find out.
The BlackBerry Q10 is a phone with a split personality. On top, its got all the slick, touchscreen fluidity of the BlackBerry 10 platform. That means over 70,000 apps, the brilliant Peek and Flow and navigation that lives and breaths gestures.
Underneath, though, it’s classic BlackBerry through and through. The physical keyboard that’s been the company’s trademark since day one is there, allowing the rapid texter and the professional in you rattle off emails, IMs and texts as if it were part of your own hand.
Both the 3.1-inch touchscreen and the keyboard sit over the top of a stonking 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM, while an 8-Megapixel camera slots in round the back.
It’s a tidy package, but how do its touchscreen abilities and QWERTY qualities sit together? To find out, we’ve had some hands-on time with the Q10 and caught what we’ve found on camera. Watch the video below to see it in action.
Ready for BlackBerry’s best of both? The BlackBerry Q10 will be available to pre-order soon.
