The unveiling of the next Samsung Galaxy smartphone is just hours away, so our eForum super-users have been discussing the top features they most want to see.

Next Samsung Galaxy on Vodafone

The unveiling of the next Samsung Galaxy smartphone is just hours away and the rumour mill has been in overdrive for weeks now.

We’ll be at the event to bring you news hot off the press but, in the meantime, we thought it would be interesting to see what our very own eForum super-users were hoping for in the next Galaxy smartphone.

Northern-dj was one of the first to pitch in an opinion, saying, “Most know what I want and that’s [for the phone to not be fitted with] a non removable battery. I hope it has a big battery like the [Samsung] Note and an SD slot.”

NeoBlade was next to speak up and he said, “I can’t wait…looks like we’ll be getting a 4.8-inch 720p HD Super-AMOLED screen (possibly curved?). The quad-core Exynos chipset looks like to be a class leader as well.

“I just hope it has ample RAM (1GB) and will still support MicroSD storage to bump up the 16/32GB options” he went on. “1GB RAM is the sweet spot [but] 1.5GB would be nice or even 2GB, however that would drive prices up.”

And eForum expert thesoupdragon also pitched in, saying, “I read some reports…about a possible 2000mAh Lithium-Polymer battery, possibly giving double the life expectancy due to improved GPS and Wi-Fi scanning.

“I would also like to see an easily docked configuration”, he continued. “With my interest in running Ubuntu on Phones, that would be a bonus for me. For some strange reason I really want this phone to be something like no one has ever seen!”

There’s plenty more chat on what may or may not feature in the next Galaxy device, so feel free to head over to our eForum to join in the discussion if you’ve got any last minute suggestions for what you’d like to see.
