Another month means another raft of cities to add to our 4G rollout, and a new Vodafone 4G milestone. Read on for all the details.

Our 4G roll out continues across the UK and we’ll soon have another three places to add to our list of Vodafone 4G cities. And we’ve hit a pretty special milestone to boot…

It’s been just over a month since our ultrafast* 4G network first flew out of the gates in London, and it’s been spreading around the UK ever since. In September we added Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield to the list of 4G-enabled cities, and now we’ve got more joining the roster.

We’ll be switching on 4G in Liverpool on 17 October, in Glasgow on 24 October and in Manchester shortly afterwards. That’s all part of our mission to provide coverage using 2G, 3G or 4G services to 98% of the UK population.

On top of that, we’re delighted to report that, even at this early stage, more than 100,000 people have signed up to our Red 4G-ready plans, giving them access to stacks of great entertainment – remember you can get Sky Sports Mobile TV or Spotify Premium included in your plan – and our burgeoning ultrafast 4G network.

As well as those deals, all our Red 4G-ready plans come with unlimited data for three months, followed by double our standard allowances. There’s also a sneaky #4GBonus if you sign up soon.

“More than 100,000 people have signed up to our Red 4G-ready plans.”

And the good news keeps on coming. Since the very first phones in London switched to our 4G network, the coverage has been expanding outwards across the capital. More than 80 towns and districts** in the London area are now connected to Vodafone 4G.

From Harlow to Dorking, and from Dartford to Windsor, we’ve got 4G flowing out across more of Greater London every day.

The best bit? Because of the 800MHz spectrum we’re using, everywhere that Vodafone 4G goes, good indoor signal goes, too and you can check our current and planned coverage here.

Loads more cities will be launching soon, so stay tuned to Vodafone Social for updates as the months march on.
