As the BlackBerry Curve 9320 starts to appear on the shelves of Vodafone shops up and down the country, it joins a line-up of affordable BlackBerrys for which we’ve seen demand grow in recent times among our Pay as you go customers.
Its predecessors, the Curve 8520 and 9300, have been among the top selling handsets in our range of Pay as you go smartphones for some time now. In fact, Pay as you go BlackBerry handset sales doubled among Vodafone customers in the last year.
Pay as you go BlackBerry handset sales have doubled among Vodafone customers in the last year.
With the new device packing 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and running on the latest BlackBerry 7.1 operating system, we spoke to Sten van der Ham, Head of our Pay as you go team, to get his views on why the BlackBerry Curve 9320 has the potential to see this growth increase:
“Our Pay as you go customer research shows us that people feel BlackBerry has a track record for producing high quality, affordable devices with a range of impressive features, so the fact the Curve 9320 features the latest BlackBerry OS is likely to capture people’s attention.
“Software features like BBM and an expanding AppWorld are also driving a sizeable increase in BlackBerry Internet Services subscriptions too and we can see that continuing with the Curve 9320, especially when you factor in the great value we now offer through Vodafone Freebees and Freebee Rewardz.”
But don’t just take Sten’s word for it: James Richardson, editor of tech review site Tracy and Matt has been lucky enough to get his hands on an early sample and gives us his verdict.
“The BlackBerry Curve 9320 is a superb successor to the Curve 8520 and 9300, and this affordable handset delivers a lot for its price,” he says.
“If communication and social networking are your thing then the Curve 9320 will suit you down to the ground, without breaking the bank…and its fantastic hardware keyboard allows for speedy and precise text entry.”
The BlackBerry Curve 9320 is available now for just £135 on Pay as you go price plans or free on our pay monthly Vodafone price plans from just £15.50 per month.
“Could the BlackBerry Curve 9320 be the bargain of the year?” asked James, after finishing his time with this new BlackBerry handset. “I think it stands a good chance.” You can check out his full review for yourself.
