Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck

Summer’s rapidly approaching and music fans everywhere are gearing up for another festival-packed season. Like last year, our Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck will be hitting the road too, delivering much-needed juice to the handsets of Vodafone customers with batteries running low.

And we can now reveal the full details of the only tour schedule that matters this summer: Where the Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck will be pulling up the handbrake.

Stopping at some of the year’s biggest and best festivals, the truck will be on hand to charge Vodafone Customers’ phones for free. And with space for 2,000 handsets, we’re expecting to power-up as many as 72,000 phones this summer.

The Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck’s first stop will be the Download festival, kicking off its 2012 tour at the legendary Donington Park from 8-10 June, alongside acts such as The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath.

Next the Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck will head over to the Isle of Wight festival where it’ll share the spotlight with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, among others, and keep your phones fully charged from 22-24 June.

The Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck team will then be braving the 500 mile drive north to Balado Park in Scotland for T in the Park from 6-8 July, where you’ll be able to catch live shows from Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses and Kasabian.

Next it’ll trek southeast, down to Latitude in Suffolk from 12-15 July, to feature alongside an amazing line-up of artists, including Bon Iver, Elbow, and Paul Weller.

With space for 2,000 handsets, we’re expecting to power-up as many as 72,000 phones this summer.

Next stop will be in Stratford Upon Avon, where it’ll be bringing power to the thousands of festivalgoers heading to the Global Gathering from 27-28 July, to catch Tinie Tempah, Chase & Status, Armin van Buuren and others.

From there it’s a quick drive back down south, where the Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck will be charging up handsets for music devotees at the Reading festival from 24-26 August, with great live shows from bands including The Cure, Kasabian and Foo Fighters.

And at the exact same time, our Vodafone VIP Recharge Truck’s twin – the Robin to its Batman, if you like – will also be topping up batteries at Bramham Park, closing out the summer tour at the Leeds Festival.

  • Vodafone not attending Bristol Balloon Fiesta this year? (always seems to be some visit by Vodafone and many other trade stands)

Not a musical festival but festivals all the same… (Bristol has at least 3 over the summer)

  • Elliott Coulson
